Compared to other major sports, NASCAR has not dealt with the problem of drugs quite as often. It was in 1988 that Tim Richmond, a 13-time race winner, who made the news for his suspension due to his failure to pass a sanctioned drug test. Richmond started driving for Hendrick Motorsports and built an impressive record on the circuit, and he was regularly listed on the nascar schedule. Afterwards, Richmond denied any drug use and it was later discovered that medications taken for cold symptoms were the cause of the positive testing. NASCAR did not want Richmond in the sport at that time. He was losing weight due to an illness, but unbeknownst to NASCAR, Richmond was dying of AIDS. From NASCAR’s perspective, the weight loss and subsequent symptoms must be the result of drugs; rumors in the Cup garage supported this assumption. By 1989, he had died because of medical complications from AIDS. In fact, in the two decades since Tim Richmond was banned from NASCAR, few drivers have been taken to task for illicit drug use. Drivers Shane Hmiel, Tyler Walker, Kevin Grubb, and Aaron Fike have been suspended by NASCAR in the recent past. Two of them, Grubb and Hmiel, were no longer allowed on the track for their failures to pass tests after being reinstated for earlier suspensions. Hmiel is the son of auto racing mechanic Steve Hmiel, who has been involved with popular racing companies like Chip Ganassi Racing, Rousch Racing, and Dale Earnhardt Inc. in the last several years. Hmiel was a racer with serious talent and many described him as one of the more talented rookie drivers of the last decade, but his substance abuse issues were the undoing of his promising driving career. Grubb was also a young driver in the late 1990’s. Grubb enjoyed moderate success in the Busch, now Nationwide Series before failing a drug test in 2003. Despite the fact that Grubb was reinstated after a three-year absence from the track, he lasted just a year before final suspension in 2007. Just recently, in May 2009, Grubb shot himself in the head and was killed instantly. Driver Tyler Walker, a good friend to the Sprint Cup Series racer, Kasey Kahne, was suspended in 2006 for failing a drug screening. Tyler has yet to file for NASCAR reinstatement. Driver Aaron Fike’s made the list of trouble drivers when he was arrested for heroin possession at a theme park and subsequently suspended by NASCAR officials. Later, in an interview with ESPN’s ‘The Magazine,’ Fike said that he was using heroin on race day. The interview was a wake-up call for NASCAR. Prior to the 2009 season, NASCAR required tests only for those drivers under reasonable suspicion for abuse. NASCAR’s new drug policy includes random testing for all drivers and crewmembers during the driving season using third-party service Aegis Science Corp Labs, which is managed by Dr. David Black. A small number of crewmembers have been suspended following positive drug test results. As recently as May 9, 2009, driver Jeremy Mayfield, another popular driver like Tim Richmond, was place on indefinite suspension for failing his drug screening. Mayfield has made a claim that the positive test is a result of combination of Claritin-D allergy medicine and an unnamed but legal prescription drug. However, NASCAR and Dr. Black have publicly ruled out Mayfield’s claim. Mayfield refuses to withdraw his claim and has hired a lawyer named Bill Diehl to represent him. There appears to be a legal suit in NASCAR’s immediate future. NASCAR has not publicly disclosed the substance that is in question, and even Mayfield has expressed ignorance regarding the drug. He and his lawyer received reports earlier in the week. The bottom line is that this is a he-said they-said situation that will likely be resolved outside of court. It has triggered plenty of attention on the sport of NASCAR, and not in a good way. Still, there isn’t necessarily any reason for concern for the nascar schedule. The coverage of Mayfield’s legal protests have sidetracked many notable stories coming out of NASCAR that could mean some good press for a change. Much of this is about the fact that drug issues are still a rarer thing in NASCAR than they are in the NBA, NFL, MLB, or the NHL. The random drug screening process is an improvement from the testing only on reasonable suspicion approach. The real flaw in this new approach is that NASCAR hasn’t given out a list of substances it has banned to the public. It seems that NASCAR wants to be the one to decide if a substance should be banned. A list of banned substances would allow the drivers and crewmembers more understanding on what they can or cannot do. As with other professional sports, drug use is forbidden in NASCAR. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Drug-Users-In-NASCAR/347956#sthash.YX3gXxdJ.dpuf
I’m determined to be a good sport. I just can’t decide at what sport I’d be good. Although my parents were golfers, I didn’t inherit their talent. Addressing the ball, shifting my weight when I swung the club, keeping my head down – basically, I couldn’t keep my eye on the ball. My grandmother kept me on horseback every summer – until a bee stung my horse. He bucked – I fell – he kicked me in the head. As soon as I regained consciousness, I stopped horsing around. I know you’re meant to get back on a horse after falling, but I didn’t get back on the hockey field either. Field hockey isn’t played socially. The last time I played was in high school. That was also the last time I was called right wing. With the ocean as my backyard, you’d think swimming would be my sport. It might have been if I hadn’t seen “Jaws” – if I didn’t hear the movie’s theme song every time I went in the ocean – if every ripple in the water didn’t look like a shark’s fin – if every few months a shark wasn’t sighted. Volleyball is played on our beach. The city provides the nets. All I’d need is a ball and – my youth. Although I’m an experienced runner – of errands – running as a sport is too physically demanding. After one run-on sentence I’m tired. Bike riding is popular. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to close my eyes when being passed by large vehicles so I don’t see biking as my sport. I thought I’d make tennis my sport. I love the outfits, but pretty isn’t necessarily as pretty does in tennis. Lawn bowling also has pretty outfits, but only my repeated loses taught me to be a good sport lawn bowling. Wanting to play something well, I went to a sports bar for inspiration. Unless drinking beer, yelling obscenities and bumping chests is a sport, it didn’t help. Friends who sail tried to help, but there’s too much terminology. Even the sails have names. I’ll stick with the sales at Macy’s. I’ve come to the conclusion what I am is a natural born spectator. I’ve reasonably good eyesight, I developed an impressive yell as a mother, I’m coordinated enough to clap and fit enough to do the wave. Being a spectator is something I can do – no sweat. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Are-You-A-Good-Sport-/61235#sthash.Cfs6Qh6x.dpuf
As the Wii comes with only one wiimote and one Nunchuk you will probably want to buy extras so you can play games with your friends and family. Extra Wii controllers and nunchuks helps take the gaming experience to greater level. Trust me Wii Sports is much more fun playing against a Human! Wii Sports Pack The wii sports pack has a range of cool controller extras that make the games more realistic, these add ons include. A Golf Club Grip, Baseball Bat and mini Tennis Racket Grip, all of the add ons quickly attach quickly and to the Wii-mote. Wii Steering Wheel The wii steering wheel is a simple but effective attachmentto the Wii-mote, I find that gripping the Wiimote with out one makes car games just feel wrong. The Steering wheel attachmentmakes it feel more natural and increases the game play reality. Better AV Cables When you buy the Wii it includes some rubbish RCA cables that are lets face it a bit old skool! If you are lucky enough to own a Plasma TV, DLP or LCD Screen then a great way to gain a extra quality picture is to replace the cables with either Wii component AV cables or a Wii S-Video cable. The Wii is not HD like the PS3 or Xbox360 it’s still a quick way to get a better picture with cheap costs. Charging Stations If you’re a hardened gamer like me you will notice that the Wii Controllers have a real appetite for AA batteries. There are many docking stations for wii controllers that replace the normal alkaline batteries for rechargeable ones. The wii controllers simply charge up whilst not in use ensuring that when you come to play you’re not left feeling flat. GameCube Controller If you plan on using the Wiis backwards compatibility then the Gamecube controller is a must, they can be bought on eBay for peanuts. You can even buy the cordless Wavebird controller for wire free gaming. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Top-6-Wii-extras-you-should-purchase-now/188847#sthash.RzRHbCOU.dpuf
Generally an elbow bone spur is harmless and causes no pain, but in some cases an elbow bone spur can be painful and cause a lot of discomfort. An elbow bone spur is also called osteophytes, but simply put; it can be explained as a bone overgrowth in the elbow. It is fairly common in people who play sports which involve throwing, because of the elevated pressure which is placed on the elbow when throwing the ball. There are times when, the bones in our body also behave like the muscles. When you put a lot of pressure on your muscles and exercise, they grow larger and much thicker. The same theory can be applied for bones as well. When they are constantly pressurized, they also develop larger and thicker, resulting in an overgrowth. An elbow bone spur may occur as a result of your elbow bone trying to mend or heal itself after an injury. Pain is generated by an elbow bone spur when it has grown large enough to put pressure on the surrounding tissues of the elbow or even when it compresses a nerve. It could also be painful when the overgrown bone rubs against another bone creating friction. In worse cases you may not even be able to straighten your arm. Pain caused by an elbow bone spur may radiate throughout your arm and travel toward your shoulder blades giving it a throbbing sensation. According to advice from the Mayo Clinic, “If your bone spurs don’t cause you any pain or if they don’t limit any range of motion in your joints, then you likely won’t need treatment”. However if your elbow keeps on giving you trouble, it is better to seek medical attention before the problem gets aggravated. There are many methods of treatment available for an elbow bone spur. If you are able to move your arm, but have inflammation and experience discomfort or mild pain, then your doctor may advice you to use an ice pack in the inflamed area with the elbow bone spur in order to ease the pain. He may also prescribe non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which can be purchased over the counter, to reduce the swelling and ease the pain. Along with medication, it is particularly important that you rest your elbow. To assist you with this, your doctor may provide you with an elbow sleeve or he may put your elbow on a sling. On the other hand, if you are a professional sports person or if you indulge in a lot of sports and outdoor activities, your doctor might recommend you to get surgical treatment for your elbow bone spur. An orthopedic surgeon will perform the surgery and remove the overgrowth. The surgery does not guarantee that the elbow bone spur will not grow back. But this is the longest lasting and best option, if you are someone who is involved in strenuous activity which puts pressure on your elbow. Nevertheless you can better your chances of recovery and the elbow bone spur not returning by pursuing physical therapy and making certain modifications to your activities. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Elbow-Bone-Spur-Is-It-Harmless-/1399536#sthash.T1ZTCVmW.dpuf

A well-fitted sport jacket can make you look polished and masculine. However, one that is too small or too large can create a messy look. For normal everyday wear, weddings, interviews, and special occasions, the right fit on your jacket or sport coat is absolutely key.
How do you know if a sport jacket has the right fit for you? Here are a few key things to look for:
1. Cuff length- When you are standing and relaxing with your arms at your sides, the jacket sleeve cuff should not hit the back of your hand, nor should it hit your palm. If it does, this simply means the sleeves are too long. Typically, this is something you can get tailored fairly easily (and for not much cost). The cuff of your sport jacket should reach about of an inch above the top of your hand. This way, you can wear a dress shirt underneath it without the two different cuffs getting all bunched up together. The shirt cuff is meant to show just teeny bit; about to of an inch below the cuff of your sport jacket.
2. Chest fit- To determine the size of your chest, use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the fullest part of your chest, which is just below your arm pits. Hold one end of the measuring tape in front of you, then wrap the other end behind your back and around to meet the first end on your chest. This way, you will have to expand your shoulder blades slightly, which is accurate in terms of how you want a sport jacket to allow you some movement. This measurement is your jacket size, and therefore gives you a good starting point when you go to try on blazers and sport coats. A proper chest fit and a straight, clean tie knotare two details that are integral to a polished look.
3. Length- If you are 5′ 7″ or shorter, you will need a short jacket length. If you are between 5′ 8″ and 6 feet tall, you will need a regular jacket length. If you’re over 6 feet, you’ll need a long, and over 6′ 3″ you’ll need an extra long. The reason length is important is because it determines how the jacket drapes, and therefore contributes greatly to the overall look and style. If you are right between lengths and not sure which one to go for, select the one that is slightly longer then get it tailored up.
4. Vent fit- A vent in a blazer, sport jacket, or suit coat is designed to help the jacket fit well when you are sitting down. Some European made, particularly Italian, jackets do not have a vent. This is a nice style that you can go for if you would like. However, you should be aware that your jacket is much more likely to get crumpled and rumpled when you sit down if it does not have a vent. If you do get a sport jacket with a vent, look for a center vent that is not frayed, pulled apart, or stretched in any way. The vent should lay smoothly and look fairly flat. If the vent splays out or pulls when you walk, then the jacket is too big for you.

Among the numerous stunning landscapes in Bulgaria, the Black Sea is the one sea that touches the country with its salty, peaceful waters to amuse the fisherman. With the Danube river touching its northern edge, the Black Sea and the mountains which impart wonderful streams with trout, Bulgaria is magnificent for fishing if you know where to look for your prey. However, the lowland plains, or any significant river, provide limited fishing for the sports angler once it has passed through any significant municipality, reservoirs and sizeable lakes due to the subsistance fishing done by a number of the poorer Bulgarians that net for fish and will eat even the smallest of fish including trout & carp, which reduces the possibilities for the growth cycles permitted to fish in many of the more highly developed European countries. Fly fishing is a growth area in Bulgaria with many better off Bulgarian’s purchasing tackle from Europe and sport fishing, their affluence reducing their private needs for sport fishing. Regions such as Devin, the Rila mountains and throughout Sofia are very good for the European river and lake fly fishermen to continue their sport in this superb country. The Black Sea is heavily fished closer to shore and in actual fact a fly angler is better fishing from a kayak or boat. Kayak fishermen fish from sea kayaks because they are particularly stealthy and can allow anglers to reach areas un-fishable from land or by typical vessel. With the escalation in sport fishing, kayak fishing allows for anglers to get far more exciting fishing than would be seen from shore. There are a number of breathtaking lakes in the Southern area of Bulgaria – in the Rhodopes – where folks can take a canoe or kayak tour in a picturesque landscape or cast a line on the varied Bulgarian shoreline, ideal for a sea kayak tour. Here is a list of fish you may well find when flyfishing in Bulgaria although a few are very rare:- Bonefish, Bonito, Pargo, Sailfish, Mullet, Yellowtail, Whitefish, Mackeral, Pike, Musky, Salmon, Pacu, Snapper, Walleye, Trout, Dorado, Grouper, Char, Carp, Catfish, Barrcuda, Tilapia, Parrotfish, Tuna, Wahoo, Grilse, Grayling, Tarpon, Yellowfin, Snakehead, Taimen, Marlin, Trevally, Bass, Perch, Barramundi. Commercial fishing grants a good revenue and food source to Bulgaria as for scores of countries around the globe. Fishing methods contrast in accordance to the area, the varieties being fished for, and the technology accessible to the anglers. A commercial fishing enterprise in Bulgaria can vary from 1 man with a tiny boat with hand-casting nets or a number of pot traps, to a vast fleet of trawlers catching massive quantities of fish every day.One of the countries disadvantages already highlighted is that more than a few lakes and reservoirs have subsistance fishermen (at times backed by criminal gangs) who will trawl lakes netting anything! A lot of reservoirs have had silver carp presented. The silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) is a species of freshwater cyprinid fish, a variety of Asian carp native to north and northeast Asia. Silver carp are filter feeders, and thus are challenging to catch on typical hook and line gear and by the kilogram, more silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) are reared worldwide in aquaculture than any other species. It has been released to, or spread into via coupled waterways of, at least 88 international locations around the world, in Bulgaria thie silver carp was presented to administer water quality control during communist times. In respect to Bulgarian laws, fish species are property of Bulgaria (Art. 2), foreigners are allowed in fish waters for sport fishing under certification issued by Authorities of Ministry of Forest and Forest Industry, after payment of governmental fees (Art. 22 – Fish Husbandry Act of 10 November 1982). The licence costs only around £15 though as with many things in Bulgaria, it takes effort to get with pictures needed along with trips to the local council offices. As with most countries, the government agrees a register of prohibited species, gear and seasons, however with many subsistence fishermen it is not uncommon that these laws will be disregarded and you are likely to see fishermen fishing out of season for food. Catch and let loose and sport fishing are developing and it is now conventional to see anglers fishing with a fly rod on rivers, lakes and the Black Sea where this astounding nation can render some interesting sport. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Fly-Fishing-In-Bulgaria/1423518#sthash.JECxzpFV.dpuf
Massage therapy is old, a lot older than one would think. Based on simple principles and the healing properties of touch, it can relax you like few other therapies can. For long, massage therapy has been used as a treatment for relaxation, pain management and healing. It doesn’t cure anything in the strict sense of the word but it can give the body the right push to facilitate healing. It stands out for not targeting just the body but the mind and spirit as well. A stress-buster! Most will attest to the power of massage therapy for busting stress. As therapists work the muscles, they’re loosened so knots and kinks you develop over time are lessened. Regular massages can help prevent strains by keeping muscles limber. The soothing experience is made all the more relaxing with an environment filled with fragrances and soft music. Reduces anxiety and headaches A mind in turmoil can manifest itself in anxiety, depression and even headaches. While these conditions can also be caused by other factors, massage therapy is an affordable form of treatment. Therapists are easy to find and there are several types of massages to pick from. A cheap pain management tool Pain medicines have their benefits, sure, but they cost. There’s also the risk of developing a dependency. We only have to read the figures on prescription drug abuse to see how common this has become. On the other hand, massage therapy as a pain management tool is completely safe. The only care to take is to find out if you’re suffering from conditions like severe osteoporosis, deep vein thrombosis and severe thrombocytopenia. Open wounds, bleeding disorders and fractures will also leave you ineligible. Consult your doctor before undergoing massage therapy even if you don’t suffer from these conditions. Promotes healing Sprains, strains and pulled muscles take time to heal. With proper massage therapy the time can be significantly reduced. Doctors usually recommend massage therapy alongside physiotherapy for these cases. Types of massages: There are many types of massage therapies and more that we don’t know of. Because cultural influences dominate the treatment styles you’ll come across different techniques in different regions. By and large, the most popular types are the Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage. Swedish massage is identified by long strokes and circular movements, vibration and tapping. Deep tissue massage is characterized by slower strokes with more pressure. This is done to get to deeper muscles and tissue. Sports massage, meanwhile, is usually limited to treating sports injuries. Your doctor or a massage therapist will recommend which to get. What to look out for: Massages can be extremely healing but there are cases where problems have arisen. They’re usually caused by too much pressure and inexperience. Examples include nerve damage, temporary paralysis, internal bleeding and reactions to massage oils. You can eliminate these risks by having only registered and experienced therapists work on you. Your doctor can recommend a good therapist. The benefits of massage therapy are well-known and the examples here are only a few. Even if you aren’t suffering from aches and pains, getting one every month will do you more good than harm. You’ll feel relaxed physically and mentally. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Explore-The-Many-Benefits-Of-Massage-Therapy/1958032#sthash.w1VdjslQ.dpuf
Exercises are often hard work. Clever inventors develop equipment to make it easier. Some products are mayflies on the market. Others work well. The ab lounge sport exercise chair is one of the well working abdominal exercise equipment tools. It is successfully on the market for about 5 years. Ab lounge reviews shows: Many people love it. Abloungers look like patio chairs with feet rests. A specific mechanism supports a wide stretching as well as crunching. Stretch back and curl up in a controlled manner, that works the abs. Compared with crunches on the floor, it is safe for back and neck. Many users with back and hip problems praise the exercises. Safe and well supported crunches and leg raises are relatively easy to perform on the ab lounge sport. Furthermore, this exercise chair allows an exceptionally wide and relaxing stretch. Good for people who are stiff from hours of computer work or other daily impacts; good for people with back problems. Of course, there is some criticism in ab lounge reviews. A few owners complain that they do not feel a burn or did not lose weight with their chair ab exercises. However, the vast majority report positive results. Even seniors are happy about the flexibility which they got with their ablounger exercises. Especially beginners and untrained persons report considerable success, such as additional strength or even weight loss. Some people seem to lose weight by doing lots of crunches on the ablounger. Of course, every activity helps to burn calories, but mostly we need a mix of a healthy diet, cardio workout and muscle training for healthy weight loss. Ab lounge exercises are first and foremost muscle training. They strengthen and build up muscles of the big core muscle group. A great benefit of such regular workout is a higher BMR. The body burns more calories than before. If one does not increase the intake of food, it is positive for healthy weight loss in a long-term period. Beyond that, stronger muscles cause better posture, better digestion and a better bone structure. All these body reactions improve the general health and fitness even in older age. It makes sense having such a piece of abdominal exercise equipment at home. Ab lounge sport can be folded for storage. Some reviews tell us about difficulties with the folding. The best is, to let it unfolded in front of a TV. That motivates to use it more often. Space is one aspect of criticism. The ab lounge sport measures 40 x 30 inches. This small footprint lets people forget that there is space needed for the full-body stretch. There is no piece of abdominal exercise equipment able to bring miracles in weight loss. The ablounger exercise chair might not be right for everybody. Nevertheless it is perfect for remarkably many people; especially beginners, seniors, busy moms who cannot leave their child alone, or other busy people who would not exercise unless they can do it during their daily TV time. If such persons have the space, an ablounger is a sound investment in health and fitness. Besides, the ab lounger sport is inexpensive, and the whole family can use it. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Do-Chair-Exercises-On-Ab-Lounge-Sport-Work-/1384703#sthash.Eg9DNXUX.dpuf
Imagine it: the sleek, shiny bodies, all in peak condition, battling it out in filthy, mud-slinging competition, emerging heated, covered in mud, and victorious even if they lost. No, these muck-covered beauties won’t be on the cover of Sports Illustrated; they’re more likely to be found on the pages of Off-Roading, especially the ones with tractor-grade tires.
Mud bogging is a sport that combines the thrill of racing, the love of top-performance vehicles, the fun of off-road mudding, and the never-outgrown little boy love of playing in the mud, getting as dirty as humanly possible. The sport began in the 1970s, when off-road afficionados started racing their vehicles through the most boggy, muddy, dirty areas they could find – notably, the swamps of North Carolina. Motorsports show organizers picked up on the trend and began including long mud-filled pits for racing in their shows, and as the sport grew in popularity among racers and spectators alike, mud bogging grew into its own organized competition.
In 1988, the National Mud Racing Association was organized in Dayton, Ohio, making this rebel sport a legitimate member of the auto sports racing family. Today, you can see mud bogging exhibitions and competitions throughout the country.
Mud Bogging Rules
Vehicles that compete in professional mud bogging are required to have four-wheel drive, and are generally turbocharged, high-clearance, oversize-tire vehicles, often with nitrous injections and other nifty modifications. Picture a monster truck on steroids, and you pretty much have it. There are six classes of mud bogging vehicles, from stock four-wheel-drive vehicles all the way up to non-street-legal paddle and scoop tired madly-modified vehicles.
Bog tracks can range across a variety of types, from flat or progressive tracks to open bogs, even hilly tracks with rises punctuated by mudholes along the way. Tracks are up to 300 feet in length, usually determined by the amount of space allowed by the arena rather than what promoters think the vehicle can handle. It is common today to see mud bogging competitions at the same events that feature monster trucks because the two types of vehicle overlap; in fact, some of the best mud bogging racers first became known for driving monster trucks.
The racing is serious, and is generally as simple as a set of matches pitting winners versus winners. But if you go to watch mud bogging, you’re almost certainly interested in the fun of the flying mud, not in who wins. Like in mud wrestling, both vehicles win, provided they come out thoroughly covered in mud.
If you want to get into mud bogging for yourself, the best route is by getting involved in mudding locally. Most country areas have a group of guys – and sometimes gals – who go mudding on a regular basis, seeking out the nastiest muddiest holes and driving ordinary four-wheel-drive vehicles through it. Many of these groups are happy to teach you how to get your car as dirty as possible, as fast as possible, and they frequently hold meets or are associated with mud bogging groups.
Honestly, though, if it sounds like fun, just go do it. Just make sure your cell phone has power before you get started – just in case you find more bog than mud.

Sports parents often have a biased opinion of their child’s talent, with many believing their son or daughter has star potential. Over my years of coaching, many parents have told me that they believed their child had great talent when, in my opinion, their kids were very average players. It is natural to think highly of one’s child but the problem comes in when parents are unrealistic with their beliefs. This situation of believing a child has star qualities often leads to conflicts with their kid’s coach. The complaint that the coach is treating their kid unfairly leads to the concern that the coach is inhibiting their kid’s future in the sport and that they must do something about that. Parents who are unhappy with the coach feel like their child can be a star player if it was not for the coach. Unfortunately, this attitude often puts kid athletes in a bad situation. Parents project their unhappiness with the coach in front of their kids, and eventually this type attitude becomes the young players attitude. If parents did not create this negative attitude, kids would not develop any negative feelings their playing situation. Kids are often happy with their role and being part of the team. This is not meant to say that some parents do not have a legitimate gripe about the coach. However, parents should do their best to keep it all in perspective with the understanding that the coach is doing the best they are capable of and their child’s long-range career will not be affected. Situations when coaches are not what players or parents expect are great teaching moments for parents. Explaining the non-ideal situation to kids in a positive manner will help kids learn to deal with unpleasant situations in their future. Of course, there are still many parents that believe that their kids are being slighted and feel like they have to do something to help them. This brings up the dilemma of if, when and how parents should confront their kid’s coach. Parents should confront the coach when the child is the one very upset and not because the parents are the upset ones. Sports parents should look for the following situations to know if their son or daughter is unhappy with the coach. A. When kids have a hard time eating or sleeping because of their sports situation B. When kids come home crying from the coach’s treatment on more than one occasion C. When their child is so upset that they want to quit playing Before approaching their player’s coach, parents should keep in mind the following: 1. A player’s talent will come to the forefront eventually. 2. Learning to play a position they normally do not play almost always will help players in the end. 3. Volunteer coaches should not be expected to be experts with their knowledge of the game or with their ability to lead a team. Even great coaches at the professional or collegiate levels run into problems even with years of coaching experience. 4. Parents should not take it personal when a coach seems to slight a player. When parents feel like they have no alternative to approaching the coach for the good of their child here are suggestions on how and when to do it. 1. Parents should not email the coach with their concerns. This impersonal method of email communication may lead to things written or implied that adults regret later. This type communication often leads to an inflammation of the situation, instead of an attempt at a resolution. 2.Parents should meet with the coach in a setting away from the field and not immediately after games, when possible. 3. This meeting should be away from any players or team members’ parents and ideally at a neutral site over coffee or lunch. 4. When parents meet with the coach, they should do so with an open mind, while letting the coach know that you have the best interest of the kids in mind. 5. When possible, get to know the coach a little better with small talk before delving into your concerns. 6. Parents should then explain their perception of the unfair situation in a concerned but non-threatening manner and listen and discuss the coach’s perception. When confronted in this manner, often a resolution can be attained with greater respect and friendship resulting from the honest discussion. When a solution is not agreed upon, it is important for parents and players to realize that they may have to make the most of an unpleasant situation, especially when playing alternatives are not beneficial to a player’s future in the sport. Allowing kids to quit the team or pulling them off a team because of the coach should be a very last resort. Of course, it is never good to force a young player into playing if their heart is not into it. It is also important that parents not mention their negative feelings about the coach in front of their kids, and especially with kids who do not seem affected by the coach’s decisions. Once a young player or their parent begins to show a negative attitude towards the coach, the coach will often take it out on the player with less playing time or ignoring the player altogether. This obviously makes a bad situation even worse so parents should not let on how unhappy they are with the coach to their kids. Finally, youth sport coaches should state it clearly to parents at the beginning of the season that if they (parents) have concerns about how their son or daughter is being treated, they should come talk to the coaches so the kids are not the ones to suffer through an unpleasant season. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Is-it-Worth-it-to-Approach-Your-Child-s-Coach/935450#sthash.fDfEcnf4.dpuf
The extreme sport known as snowkiting has become a favorite among power sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers. It was originally used by arctic explorers to tow their sleds on ice at fast speeds. Participants of such polar expeditions would use a kite’s power to tow their sleds over great distances. In the late 1990’s, power sports enthusiasts devised ways to convert the kites into gear that would be safe enough to use as a hobby. Thus, snowkiting emerged as a sport that combined the elements of snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding and kitesurfing. Today, snowkiting is viewed as an alpine sport that makes the winter season something to look forward to. Every year, tons of tourists have made it a point to visit popular places to go snowkiting. Snowkiting is alike to kitesurfing but different because the rider uses skiing or snowboarding footwear to glide on snow. Holding a kite control bar especially designed for snowkiting, the rider allows himself to be pulled by the kite as it is blown by the wind. The special kite control bar is comparable to the tow rope used in wakeboarding and is equipped with steering precision and safety features. This way, the rider can adjust the speed and direction depending on his preference. Using the kite’s power, a rider can move at a velocity of 5 to 30 mph. Additionally, a 10 mph wind or stronger will make it possible for a rider to be pulled upwards to about 50 feet in the air. Some adrenaline junkies even launch themselves hundreds of feet up in the air over cliffs and hillsides and then use kites as parachutes as the go down . Other alpine sports rely on gravity and on the slope of a mountain for movement. However, snowkiting also makes use of kinetic energy transferred from the breeze to the kite that in turns pulls the rider. For this reason, snowkiters have the unique privilege of being able to travel both downhill and uphill. Snowkiting has become such a big hit that virtually all ski resorts now offer snowkiting along with skiing and snowboarding. Ski resorts typically have instructors that offer snowkiting lessons for a fee. For people who want to ride without having to visit ski resorts, large and open terrains like frozen lakes and snowy fields are good places to go snowkiting. A good place to go snowkiting should have adequate snow and wind. The sport can be best learned on flat and open terrains such as frozen lakes covered by about 4 to 6 inches of snow. Popular places to go snowkiting can be found in Switzerland, Russia, Sweden, Austria, U.S., Canada, Iceland, Norway and Germany. In the U.S., popular paces to go snowkiting include Mammoth Lakes in California, Green Mountain Reservoir in Colorado, Mossehead Lake and Rangeley Lake in Maine, Lake Calhoun, Lake Minnetonka and White Bear Lake in Minnesota, Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Payette Lake in Idaho, Lake Champlain in Vermont, and Buffalo Bill Reservoir, Fremont Lake and Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Most-Recommended-and-Popular-Places-to-Go-Snowkiting/1194383#sthash.dq0Mdwvo.dpuf

When examining the growth in popularity, concerning NASCAR racing, it is difficult to say the exact reason. After all, NASCAR fans observe and enjoy the sport for a number of different reasons. That is why many are unable to identify an exact reason for an increase in fan base. With that said, a few of the numerous reasons why NASCAR racing has witnessed an increase in popularity are highlighted below. NASCAR racing is a sport that is easy to watch and easy to follow. Unlike many other sports, such as baseball, basketball, and football, where different events appear on different channels, racing is out of the ordinary. Most races appear on channels that are easy to access. It also helps that most households are able to view NASCAR races on TV without having to purchase extra sport packages. Although many NASCAR racing fans never get to attend a race, many go out of their way to do so. This is due in part to the fact that NASCAR races are entertaining to attend. Ticket holders frequently get access to more than just a Saturday night or a Sunday race. Many also gain access to BUSCH races, qualifying sessions, and practice sessions. There are also many race fans who create big weekend events out of races. Fun tailgating events in the parking lot are another enticement for many race fans. NASCAR racing has also increased in popularity because there is little to no controversy that is coupled with the sport. Look at baseball for example, there is a lot of controversy that surrounds steroids and other performance enhancing drug treatments. While you may hear of a NASCAR driver getting into some trouble, like with speeding, if anything happens it’s relatively trivial. Another one of the many reasons why NASCAR racing has seen an increase in popularity is because of the drivers. Most racers are “down to earth people.” Many are just like the fans themselves. This involves in background and in personality traits. Despite the fact that they may not know them on a personal level, many race fans state that they can relate to their favorite driver, as well as many other NASCAR racers. Speaking of drivers, NASCAR racing has seen an increase in popularity with women. This is because of the drivers. It is no mystery that many professional racers are good looking. Many women form crushes so to say on their favorite drivers and then choose to follow that driver. This, consequently, results in them becoming NASCAR fans. Perhaps, the biggest reason why NASCAR racing has seen a massive explosion in popularity is because it is great for the entire family. Both children and adults like racing. Whether it involves turning on the TV or attending a live race, NASCAR is a sport that people of all ages can take pleasure in. Furthermore, there are many children who enjoy racing and their parents have grown to like it as well and vice versa; this has also led to an increase in popularity for the sport. As highlighted above, there are a number of reasons why millions of Americans tune in to watch a NASCAR race on TV or go out of their way to go to a live race competition. In fact, the above mentioned explanations are just a few of the many why the sport has increased in popularity. One thing is for certain, it doesn’t matter why fans tune in to races, so long as they do. That is the reason why NASCAR is known as the fastest growing sport, in terms of popularity and fan base. – See more at: http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/NASCAR–Why-The-Sport-Has-Increased-So-Much-In-Popularity/1023135#sthash.z9vL5nqa.dpuf
