James Brown’s death could mean more bad news for his partner, backup singer Tomi Rae Hynie. The couple were not legally married as Hynie was already a married woman when she married Brown. Although she later annulled the previous marriage, it was never counted as she and Brown never remarried.
Just hours after Brown passed, the 36-year-old widow returned to her home, but her late husband’s lawyer and accountant, David Cannon, wouldn’t let her in. ”This is my home. I don’t have any money. I don’t have anywhere to go,” Mrs Brown said after kneeling and banging on the iron gate that was locked by security guards.
Hynie admits that while she is not the legal owner of the property, it has been her home for 10 years which gives her the right to live in the home with the couple’s 5-year-old son. Click here to read more.
