The celebrities have strutted their stuff on the red carpet at this year’s 79th Annual Academy Awards. Fashion editor Carolyn Enting cast a critical eye over the star’s fashion choices.
Beyonce Knowles always looks beautiful and shone on the red carpet in a pale mint green frock designed by Armani. Knowles should have put her hair up though to better show off the bodice which was intricately decorated with semi-precious stones.
We love Jennifer Hudson, Academy Award winner for best supporting actress for her role in Dreamgirls, but her performance on the red carpet could be a little bit improved. The flashy silver snakeskin jacket was at odds with her elegant chocolate gown. Its high collar looked as if she was ready for take off.
Jennifer Lopez has just proved again why she and fashion are best friends. Lopez looks stunning in a vintage-look Grecian-inspired empire line soft pink gown by Dior. The jewels that sweep across the front of her collarbone are flattering, dramatic yet elegant.

Britney Spears attacking a paparazzi’s car
Hey Ballz-y readers, thanks for being patient over the past couple of days.
We’ve moved the site to a much more powerful server, so hopefully load time will decrease for everyone (yes, we were well aware of the problem!)
A lot has been happening in the gossip world, as many of you are aware. Britney’s second stint in rehab lasted as long as her first– under 24 hours. But fear not, as Brit-Brit has checked into rehab yet again and we’re told this is her last chance.
In unrelated news, Judge Larry Seidlin ruled that Richard Milstein, the court-appointed guardian of Anna Nicole Smith’s little daughter Dannielynn, will get custody of Anna’s remains. However, he recommended that she be buried in the Bahamas next to Daniel.
The judge got his way as Milstein, announced that he intends to bury her in the Bahamas. Virgie Arthur, the mother of ANS, is not pleased with his decision and has filed court papers today asking for the judge’s decision to be overturned.
Meanwhile, the day we’ve all been waiting for is here! Dannielynn’s paternity hearing is in progress.

Just a few updates on the drama-filled soap opera otherwise known as the Anna Nicole Smith trial.
- Howard was first to take the stand to offer his testimony about his relationship with Anna, he claimed that he became “more than friends” with the former Playboy Playmate two years ago. “We became more than friends,” he said. “She was my whole world, everything to me. She was my lover.”
- Howard also added told the court that Anna Nicole was “really bothered” that Virgie Arthur, her mother and the woman battling him for her remains, told the media that he or Anna had murdered Anna’s son Daniel Smith.
- HKS claims that he didn’t want to get formally married to Anna because he didn’t want to be perceived as a gold-digger, even though it was Smith’s wish to marry. This comes just a day after this highly disturbing video aired last night on Greta Van Susteren’s show on FOX News Channel. The video shows a drugged up and eight-months PREGNANT Anna Nicole stammering and stuttering, as Howard K. Stern videotapes her and rhapsodizes about how much money the clip will be worth.
- Broward County Medical Examiner Joshua Perper telephoned the court to tell the judge that the body of Anna Nicole Smith is deteriorating faster than normal. The body needs to be examined this week, rather than within the two weeks that had been stipulated before.

TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is giving rehab a second shot. According to sources Brit checked into an in-patient facility today in Los Angeles following the pleas from her family. Could this be it? Could this be the beginning of a comeback and more importantly can she recover herself sufficiently to be able to look after her two precious little boys? We hope so!
UPDATE: Larry Rudolph, Britney’s manger, just confirmed the news: “Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time.”
