The Ashlee pregnancy buzz isn’t shutting up, and the pop star hasn’t been much help in stopping it, either. Her future hubby called the rumors a “witch hunt” earlier in the week, and Ash addressed the drama during her appearance on MTV’s TRL, giving the world’s most vague statement ever. “I just think it’s an inappropriate question to ask any woman,” the singer told MTV News. “For me, that’s something that I didn’t ever want to respond to, because I think it’s an inappropriate question. Some things, you want to keep personal, and I think that when people deny [reports that they’re pregnant], it’s probably because it’s something they want to keep personal.”
Ummmm, so basically, she’s pregnant? Even though she’s not offering any concrete info, People magazine joined the ranks of tabloids (including Us and OK!) who have “confirmed” Ash’s pregnancy with an anonymous source. They even go so far as to allege that she and Pete will be married in May at a friend’s house in La Jolla, Cali. So here’s a congratulations to the happy couple - for whatever happens to be true!

23-year old Ashlee Simpson is engaged to her sensitive rocker dreamboat, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Yes, that noise you hear is the shattering of 12-year old hearts around the world. Ashlee announced their good news on Pete’s website with this message:
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us.”
The singers are, however, remaining tight-lipped about the rumor that Ashlee is pregnant with a fall out baby, which possibly spurred the speedy engagement. Whatevs - can’t a famous couple just simply be in luv? All engagement presents of eyeliner and black nail polish can be sent directly to the happy pair. Mazel tov!

After reportedly setting up some of his daughters’ past dalliances, it looks like Joe Simpson is looking to find love himself. Which wouldn’t be an issue, if he weren’t already married. Apparently, at Perez Hilton’s party last week, Joe was seen hanging out with some pals (including Ashlee’s ex Ryan Cabrera) without his wedding ring on, approaching several ladies. “He was flirting with one group of girls who either didn’t know who he was or didn’t care, and they just grabbed their drinks, laughed and walked away,” a source told Page Six.

Ashlee Simpson has been flashing bling on her ring finger for a while now.
On Wednesday, she confirmed it’s a promise ring from her Fall Out Boy beau Pete Wentz.
“It just means that he hasn’t asked my dad yet…” she explained on Fuse TV’s The Sauce while promoting her upcoming album Bittersweet World.
Simpson also set the record straight on another issue: “No, I’m not pregnant,” she declared.
Though Ashlee and Pete may not be walking down the aisle, her older sis Jessica — who heads to Kuwait to perform for the troops next month — may be.
A close pal of her beau Tony Romo recently told Us Weekly, “I think they’re going to get married.”

IT will be interesting to see how dad Joe Simpson handles this.
His youngest daughter Ashlee has been snapped wearing what appears to be an enagement ring at a signing of her new CD in New York.
The ring comes amid rumours the singer is also pregnant with her Fall Out Boy star boyfriend Pete Wentz’s child.
Pete recently posted a blog online announcing the couples’ plans to make something that cannot be illegally downloaded, hinting at a baby.
In the bizarre video message, Ashlee and Pete, who have dated since last summer, also reveal that the “release date” is July 2008, before Ashlee poses with a cushion stuffed under her top.
Hmmm… puzzling.
Joe was reportedly not happy that his daughter was dating someone with such ambiguous sexual preferences in the past and allegedly banned him from attending the family’s holiday celebrations.
