She may have been wearing rose-coloured glasses, but not even Madonna could ignore the eye-popping state of her hands as she left London’s Cecconi’s restaurant last night.
The singer, who left the hotspot with her eyes downcast, has long kept a youthful physique with vigorous exercise and careful diet.
But at 49, it is her wrinkled and vein-ravaged hands that reveal she is battling to defy the signs of ageing.

Having had a bitter bust-up three years ago when Elton John accused Madonna of miming when she tours, it seems that the two Queens have buried the hatchet and are friends again.
Both made an appearance at the GQ Awards in London, and they looked as though they had forgotten their past difference – Madonna retaliated to the mime accusations by returning a Christmas card he has sent.
Speaking to the Sun, Elton said: “I did offer a grovelling apology and even offered to join the Kabbalah. Madonna is a great inspiration to all of us.”
He added: “Every record moved on and she steps up to the mark every time.” If only Elton could reinvent himself like she does.
After sharing an embrace on stage, Elton took to taking one last dig at the Queen of Pop though as she exited: “I’ll be dead of uranium poisoning in three days.”

In what could only be a dig at Britney, the attention seeking singer told David Letterman on last nights show: “I’ve been hearing these stories. It’s dreadful,” Madonna said. “Honestly, I live in England and so, I get I’m pretty cut off from a lot of these stories. I only read stuff about, or hear stuff about the Royal Family. And so I’ve come to New York and the first thing I hear is about everyone not wearing their underpants. What’s going on? … It’s freezing outside!”
Dave reminded Madonna about the time she brought him a pair of her underpants as a gift and told the singer that he still had them.”Maybe you could send them to Britney” she added.
The bad blood started at the 1995 VMA AWards when Courtney crashed Madonna’s interview and threw a make up compact at her. Madonna being the diva that she is wasn’t too thrilled with the incident and made no effort to hide it.
Now Courtney sends some Love Madonna’s way and feels it’s time for the two to put the past behind them and form a friendship. She explains: “We have not spoken since her wedding. I want to make peace, but hey, I am not going to make the first move!”
Courtney believes British comedian Russell Brand could help them patch things up, saying; “I want Russell to go up to her and mediate. Is no one going to make the peace between Madonna and me?“
