Rhett Hutchence’s Side Of The Story

March 06, 07 by Ballz!

Michael Hutchence

INXS frontman Michael Hutchence’s brother, Rhett has defended his decision to sell the late singer’s personal belongings on eBay. The items include a fax to then girlfriend Kylie Minogue and a pair of Michael’s glasses.

Rhett’s mom reportedly criticized and disowned her son for cashing in on Michael’s fame almost 10 years after the rock star’s death. Rhett’s reponse? He’s only doing it to have what Kylie and Michael had - love!

He claims he was auctioning the “unimportant” items so he could afford to move to Holland to be with his girlfriend. “I assure you all the really important things I’m keeping. I will be passing on a lot of these things to Tiger (Michael’s daughter) when she’s old enough.” he said. “The fact is, I’m in love. She’s young and beautiful and everything I could want, I just need to raise some money so I can be with her. Michael wouldn’t have minded at all, he’d be happy I’m in love and have some direction in my life.”

Rhett Hutchence Cashing In On His Dead Brother

Michael Hutchence and Kylie Minogue

The brother of former INXS frontman Michael Hutchence is selling a 17-year-old fax sent from the star to his then-girlfriend Kylie Minogue on eBay.

Patricia Glassop, his mother, has disowned Rhett Hutchence for allegedly trying to cash in on the dead singer’s private belongings. Rhett Hutchence is said to be “selling the star’s memory on eBay”, including an original sketch penned by Michael Hutchence and one of his t-shirts.

Rhett Hutchence, who in 2004 released a book detailing the early days of INXS and his brother’s rise to fame, had written a “tasteless sales pitch” about the fax.

“This is a fax Michael wrote and sent to Kylie on September 19, 1990. I have a similar, yet raunchier one I”ll keep, yet this real slice of history could be yours,” the pitch says.

Ms Glassop said she was upset her son was selling the personal fax from Hutchence to pop princess Minogue.”That was one of the worst things because that was private,” she said. “I hope Kylie finds out and addresses the issue herself, because that fax is no-one else’s business.”

The move has prompted Ms Glassop to disown her only surviving son. “Rhett’s gone too far this time,” she said. “After this I don’t know who he is. But I do know he’s not my son any more.”

Michael Hutchence’s Brother Doesn’t Want Kate Moss In Late Singers Biopic

August 21, 06 by Ballz

Michael HutchenceMichael Hutchence’s brother has blasted plans to cast Kate Moss as Paula Yates in a film about the INXS singer’s life.

Rhett Hutchence is furious the supermodel is being considered for the part of Michael’s former lover in the biopic entitled Slide Away.

Rhett - who has previously published a book about his brother’s turbulent life - has even suggested an ironic alternative to play Paula, who died of drugs overdose in 2000.

He told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper: “Kate Moss to play Paula? I’d rather see Carrie-Anne Moss from The Matrix play her.”

The film stars Johnny Depp as the late INXS frontman, who allegedly accidentally ended his own life in 1997 while carrying out the sexual act of autoerotic asphyxiation.

Despite his concerns, Rhett believes the movie will provide INXS fans with a truthful insight into their idol’s life.

He said: “It’s very sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, but it is so much more than that. You get a good feel for who Michael really was.” (Source)

Michael HutchenceMichael Hutchence’s daughter wants to leave Britain and her adoptive father, Sir Bob Geldof, to live with her Australian family. Her grandmother, Patricia Glassop, in an interview with this week’s New Idea magazine, said the 10-year-old is “lonely” and has wanted to live in Australia since visiting recently with Geldof.

It was a rare chance for Ms Glassop and her husband, Ross, to see their granddaughter, whose rock star father died in 1997 and her mother, Paula Yates, three years later. She told New Idea when Tiger Lily (Hutchence’s little girl) returned to London she called to wish her a happy birthday and said: “I love you and Grandpa and I want to live with you.” Click here for more.
