Nicole Richie is giving birth as we type this! Joel Madden was spotted walking into the delivery area of L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was overheard saying, “She’s going to start pushing soon.”Madden’s twin brother is currently at the hospital along with Lionel Richie .Mom Brenda showed up first with two others and was escorted by the plain clothes security. Then Lionel showed up with Richie’s half-sister, Sophia, and they headed toward the labor and delivery area.
In a room at the hospital are about eight people, including Brenda. The group also just ordered Diet Cokes.

Not many kids have a foundation launched in their honor before they’re born. But that will be one of the many privileges bestowed upon Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s baby, due in January.
The couple hosted a surprise baby shower Monday for 100 expectant and new moms at the Los Angeles Free Clinic in Hollywood, where they handed out more than $200,000 worth of gifts. “The looks on their faces were priceless,” Richie told reporters after the shower. “Some of them didn’t even believe us [when they saw the gifts]. They thought we were joking.”
The Richie Madden Children’s Foundation (at richiemaddenfoundation.com), Madden said, was an idea the couple had when they found out they were expecting. “We grew up in Los Angeles,” he said, “and we want our child to be a part of the community, and to know that there’s a responsibility to help the community.”
Nicole’s latest act of kindness comes just days after she donated all gifts received during her baby shower to 100 expectant families in need.

Mum-to-be Nicole Riche and babydaddy Joel Madden have formed the Richie Madden Children’s Foundation, an organization to help support mothers in need. At a recent baby shower thrown by Paris Hilton, Richie asked her celebrity guests to bring unwanted cribs and strollers which she planned on distributing through the couples charity. No word on whether her wish was granted, but the Oz-themed baby shower pictures you see were sold with the proceeds going to charity.
Also, the couple did receive a number of gifts, but isn’t keeping ANY of them! According to People Magazine, she and Joel will donate all gifts received during her baby shower to 100 expectant families in need through the Richie Madden Foundation.
“It’s really sweet,” says shower guest Rashida Jones, of NBC’s The Office. “With all the swag these days, we’re given so much stuff it’s almost wasteful, and it’s kind of nice when we’re giving to each other to give to someone else.”

The socialite famed for her party ways with BFF Paris Hilton failed to do anything dramatic on Friday and instead opted for some R&R with boyfriend/babydaddy Joel Madden.

Maybe Nicole rubbed her baby belly for good luck, cuz she’s sure got it. After turning herself in to serve her four-day sentence for her DUI, the starlet waltzed in and out of the Lynwood jail in under two hours. She then drove by Paris Hilton’s house pointing and laughing at the formerly locked up heiress. A deputy from the LA Sheriff’s office said, “Her release was based on her sentence and Federal Court guidelines and inmate population. Because of overcrowding, she was released early.”
Thank you sweet, wonderful overcrowding! Because of you we only had to go without our precious pregnant fashionista for less time than it takes to get new extensions harnessed to your head. We were so scared to be without her. Interesting tidbit: Nicole weighed in at 105 pounds. Seriously, that baby is a godsend.
