She then drove by Paris Hilton’s house pointing and laughing at the formerly locked up heiress. A deputy from the LA Sheriff’s office said, “Her release was based on her sentence and Federal Court guidelines and inmate population. Because of overcrowding, she was released early.”

Thank you sweet, wonderful overcrowding! Because of you we only had to go without our precious pregnant fashionista for less time than it takes to get new extensions harnessed to your head. We were so scared to be without her. Interesting tidbit: Nicole weighed in at 105 pounds. Seriously, that baby is a godsend.

Joel Madden has something special in store for girlfriend Nicole Richie: “a little ring,” as Regis Philbin called it on live, national television Thursday morning.

Appearing with his band, Good Charlotte, on ABC’s Live! with Regis and Kelly, the musician, 28, was pressed about his personal life and Nicole – who is 4 1/2 months pregnant with the couple”s child.

“You’re going to present her, maybe, with – did I hear the right thing, or should I not even talk about this?” said Regis.

“Uh, what?” deadpanned Joel.

“A little ring, or something,” said Regis.

“I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now –” answered Madden.

Joel’s reaction quickly forced Regis spin on his heel and ask the frontman’s identical twin (and the band’s lead guitarist), Benji, whom he was dating.

But the cat was out of the bag!
