Joel Madden has something special in store for girlfriend Nicole Richie: “a little ring,” as Regis Philbin called it on live, national television Thursday morning.
Appearing with his band, Good Charlotte, on ABC’s Live! with Regis and Kelly, the musician, 28, was pressed about his personal life and Nicole – who is 4 1/2 months pregnant with the couple”s child.
“You’re going to present her, maybe, with – did I hear the right thing, or should I not even talk about this?” said Regis.
“Uh, what?” deadpanned Joel.
“A little ring, or something,” said Regis.
“I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now –” answered Madden.
Joel’s reaction quickly forced Regis spin on his heel and ask the frontman’s identical twin (and the band’s lead guitarist), Benji, whom he was dating.
But the cat was out of the bag!

With beau Joel Madden leading the way, mama-to-be Nicole Richie proudly shows off her mini baby bump during a day out in Beverly Hills on Thursdsay. Pregnancy has her looking better than she’s looked in years. Here’s hoping this Hollywood mama keeps the baby weight on for good!

Lionel Richie’s baby is having a baby! Although it’s very hard for us to picture her with a belly, Nicole finally admitted that she is indeed four months pregnant (see video). The baby’s father is of course rocker boyfriend Joel Madden. But looks like Nicole’s rumored baby boy will have to share the attention with Christina Aguilera’s rumored baby. That’s right folks! Christina is said to be 18 weeks pregnant, on bed rest and as thrilled as can be!
According to In Touch Weekly, the two mom’s to be had ultrasounds on the same day, July 25th, at the same hospital, Cedars-Sinai in La. Both are expecting this December and if you believe In Touch, Christina is having a baby girl. Did we hear someone say playdates?!

As many of you know, our girl Nicole Richie was sentenced to four days in jail on Friay (a month earlier and she would have had BFF Paris to keep her company). She also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, and must enroll in an alcohol education program. She was also fined $2,048.
Richie was given the option of serving her time in a paid city jail, which is seen as a cushier facility than a county jail. She was given no surrender date, but must complete her jail time before Sept. 28.
The future jailbird is pictured above with boyfriend Joel Madden. Unlike her friend Paris, Nic actually showed up 10 minutes early for her hearing.

As reported earlier, and now confirmed, Nicole Richie is, in fact, 12 weeks pregnant with boyfriend Joel Madden’s child.
Nicole, who is said to be very excited, shared the good news with her mom Brenda, and close friends like Mischa Barton, in early May, after a pregnancy test came up positive.
And you know what? Pregnancy isn’t Nicole Richie’s only cause for celebration.
A source says that Joel Madden, 28, along with a few friends and his twin brother, Benji Madden, went shopping for an engagement ring. “Nicole is awesome. I would love for them to get married!” Benji tells Us Weekly.
Both families are said to be thrilled about the couple’s baby joy. But Nicole Richie can’t hide behind her bump forever.
The Simple Life star is due in court on July 11 on DUI charges from her December 2006 arrest, in which Wrong-Way Richie was driving while on pot and Vicodin. If found guilty, she may face 90 days to one year in jail because of a prior DUI arrest in 2003.
