John Mayer and Jessica Simpson rang in ‘07 “full-on making out” at the Hudson Hotel party thrown by Christina Aguilera. “He was scratching her back, they were kissing, it wasn’t subtle,” says a spy at the bash.
The two also spent time together in the days leading up to New Year’s Eve. They were spotted having dinner at The Mercer Kitchen on Friday, and hanging out at the Comedy Cellar that night. And while they continue to deny any relationship, speculation was sparked when the duo were spotted shopping together at Barney’s over the weekend.
They were at the jewellery counter where they gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes and, at one point, double high-fived over a purchase decision.
A source says they are staying together at The Mercer hotel in SoHo, and that John has been thrilled that they have been tricking the media all this time, but Jess doesn’t really care. Apparently, his Christmas present to her was a framed copy of the Us Weekly cover that says “Dumped: John ditches Jessica.”

Good for her! She looks happy. It must have been hard for her being alone and seeing pictures of Nick and Vanessa making out splashed on every website and every magazine. Honestly, they both deserve to be happy. They’re good people…it just so happened their marriage didn’t work out and that’s not unusual esp. in Hollywood. Papa Joe on the other hand needs to disappear from the face of the earth!
